Position: Performing Arts Teacher.

Location: Rawtenstall, Lancashire.

Start date: Monday 3rd June 2024.

Contract: Monday – Thursday, initially until December 2024.

Salary: MPS/UPS.

School: Ofsted graded “GOOD” Secondary School.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Performing Arts department, part of the successful Creative Arts Faculty, within a warm and welcoming Secondary School in Rawtenstall, Lancashire. The successful candidate will be committed to planning and delivering high quality, interesting curriculum, which will challenge and inspire all of our students.

Extra-curriculum is also important to the department and the successful candidate will assist with after school exam rehearsals and performances, assist with the annual whole school production and lead the weekly KS3 Performing Arts Club. You will also contribute to whole faculty events, for example the Year 9 Diversity Day.

We are looking for a teacher who displays the following characteristics:

  • Enthusiasm for working with 11–16-year-old students.
  • A thoughtful and self-reflective approach to pedagogy.
  • A desire to be an outstanding classroom practitioner.
  • A passion for the subject.
  • Excellent ICT skills that make learning visible in the classroom.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a continued desire to develop further.
